The Club at night
Cloudy morning
Karen and Bill at John's Pass
It's been a while since I updated our blog. The insurance adjuster was finally here and assessed the damage to the boat and he came in pretty close to what the boat yard had but we are still dickering on some of the miscellaneous expenses. We have an appointment set up for the 26th for work to start on the boat. With a little bit of luck we should be on our way by the second week of February. We are still at Treasure Island until the 26th and then we have to move to downtown St. Petersburg to have the work done.

We have company this week, Karen and Bill (Keith's sister and her husband). We are doing the tourist thing again; we are getting to know the area pretty good.

TIME IS YOUR LIFE..TIME IS IRREVERSIBLE..IT IS IRREPLACEABLE.  As of today the CO has lived 840 months or 25,550 days or 613,200 hours or 36,792,000 minutes.  As far as I can see, he is making the best of it!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEITH.

CO's comments:  Our claim has now gone to the insurance company.  We are waiting on their surveyor to come out, hopefully today, and then we will take it from there.

GO PACKERS - GREAT GAME SUNDAY!

We finally got 2 estimates for our boats damage.  We forwarded them onto the owners of the boat that hit us and we waiting to see what is next.  With either estimate we choose, it looks like we will have to be off the boat anywhere from 4 to 8 days.  As of now, we do not know if these people are going to turn this into their insurance and pay for it out of pocket; I guess time will tell.  Either way, it doesn't look like work will start for at at least 1 or 2 weeks.

Since we are staying here for a while we are having new zincs put on our prop shafts.  We have some on there already but they are not very big so we got the larger ones.

CO's comments:  The GO PACKERS is from Bobbie.  We are dealing with one of the finest boat yards in this area.  I feel sorry for all my friends up north who pay over $100 per hour for maintenance as the repairs on our boat are billed out at $85 per hour.

Saturday evening sunset at Treasure Island
If anyone is in the area of Treasure Island, FL, you just can't beat "The Club at Treasure Island" just off from Treasure Island Causeway on the GIWW at Mile 119.  Talk with Les, the Dock Master, and go to this website and and he will take good care of you.  http://theclubti.com/   The price is right (really, really, right).  There is a junior Olympic size swimming pool, a Tiki Bar by the pool, tennis courts, a big work out room with everything you can think of, and a good restaurant.  You are within a mile of Publix and the gulf.  On Gulf Blvd you can pick up the "Suncoast Beach Trolley" that will take you anywhere from Clearwater to St. Pete Beach to Pass-a-Grille.   Any place else you want to go, Les or Bob will drive you or "Lady Etta",  the Harbor Host, will also help you out. They are wonderful people here and they make you feel right at home.  Last night the owner invited us to dinner at The Club because he felt bad about the incident.  We thought that was a very nice gesture.  We had a delicious meal and a nice evening.

We are still waiting on the estimate for our boat repairs; now they say we should have it by Monday.  The sooner the better as far as I am concerned.  This has put a delay in our plans for the rest of the winter.

CO's comments:  The estimate for repairing our boat just keeps going up and up.  It is a good thing the people that hit us have good insurance.
