May 31 and June 1, 2013, Pebble Isle Marina, TN

Friday:  Another week is gone and what have we accomplished. Well, our friends made it to Nashville in record time and are getting settled in for the summer. Elvie starts her treatments on Monday morning and she is in our thoughts and prayers. We got some pictures from our neighbors face book page. Can't believe it; the road going to our property is flooded again. In 2011 it flooded, in 2012 we had the fire, and now in 2013 it is flooding again. When will Roundup get a break! Hope things dry up some before we get back there this June.

5-29-2013; This is Buckskin Road.  Unbelievable!

Saturday:  It's official; Kim Jo III has a new owners and home. We are very happy to have found good owners for her.  Thank you to Sam and Cheryl of Captain's Choice for all your hard work.  We said our good-byes today.  It was sad but we know she has good owners who will take care of her.

May 27, 2013: Pebble Isle Marina, TM

Thank you to all Vets and active military men and women out there for your service and dedication.  God Bless you all.

Monday:  Can't believe we have been here for a week already.  We haven't done much but the week sure went fast.  Last Thursday Roy and Elvie had to be in Nashville for Dr. appointments and they left their vehicle at the marina they will be staying at for the summer.   We drove to Nashville to pick them up and bring them back to their boat.  Now, just one more step for them and the long journey is completed.  Roy El left this morning and should get to Nashville by Friday.  Their friends Jim and Sue are traveling with them to help Elvie out.

We had a quiet day.  It was very hot here again.  We have been going for our  morning walks early to beat the heat.  Our friendly little dog is still walking with us.  We found out his name; Buddy.  He is a stray that has been adopted by the marina.  One of the maintenance men feeds him as well as some of the people in the trailer park next to the marina.  Buddy is very reluctant to be pet and he will shy away when you try so I think he had been abused in the past.

CO's comments:  It is good to be at Pebble Isle again; it seems like coming home.

Congratulations to our friends Len and Nancy from our old marina in Minnesota.  They just got married in Hawaii.  Here is our toast to you both.

May 21, 2013, Pebble Isle Marina, Mile 96 on the Tennessee River

Tuesday:  We were glad we got here when we did.  Last night and today we have had several thunder storms.  It was good to relax and sleep in this morning.  It was also good to get our walk in between the rain storms.  My favorite dog, River, no longer lives here but when we started our walk this morning a friendly dog walked all the way with us.  We have no idea who he belongs to.  It almost felt like River was with us again.  I will bring my dog treats tomorrow just in case he shows up again.  It is that time of year again when the female turtles make their journey to their birth place to lay their eggs.  We saw two this morning.  This was a lazy day.  We got a few things done around the boat and went to town in the afternoon.

May 20, 2013: Pebble Isle Marina, New Johnsonville, TN

Monday:  We slept in an hour later than usual but we still got going by 06:30.  It started out real sunny and 72 degrees but the sun went be hind the clouds shortly there after and about 09:15 we got a few sprinkles.  After that, the rest of the day was partly sunny but very hot and humid.  We got to Pebble Isle about 12:30 and filled up with diesel and got a pump out.  Roy El got here about an hour later.  Randy, the owner, is trying to find us a covered slip but for now we are both at the transient dock.  We will be here for the summer and Roy El will only be here for a week before heading up the Cumberland River to Nashville.  Our friend Barry joined us for dinner tonight; it was my turn to cook.

CO's comments:  What the XO didn't tell you was the CO cooked some excellent brats on the grill.  It was good visiting with our old friend Barry.

5-20-2013:  Delta Mariner, carries rockets for space craft.  This is the same ship that went under the wrong  side of a bridge on the Tennessee River a few years back and collapsed the bridge.  We are pretty sure the Delta Mariner has a new Captain!
