September 3 and 4, 2012: Bay Hill Marina to Aqua Yacht Harbor, AL

Monday the 3rd:  It has been a while since I last posted on our blog. Our plans to go to Chattanooga have been postponed and or cancelled again. We got to our friends at Bay Hill Marina in Athens, AL, and due to the hurricane "Isaac" we did not go any further. The weather report kept saying bad storms but they never materialized until Sunday evening.   When it finally hit, it was pretty bad.   We had tornado warnings and the sirens went off twice at the marina.  We only went to the shelter on the first occurrence.  Anyway, we ended up spending 8 days visiting with Roy and Elvie plus we met Jim and Sharon of Blue Angle.  It was a very enjoyable week.

Tuesday the 4th:  We left this morning at 06:20 and headed back to Iuka, MS, Aqua Yacht Harbor.  We got here at 16:00, very long and hot day.   We are still looking at bigger boats and if we do buy, we want it ready to go by October 10th so we can go down the Tenn-Tom and to Florida for the winter.  It is very exciting, but also a little scary at the same time.

We will keep you posted and hopefully we will soon have the "Kim Jo IV".

CO’s comments: The day after the holiday is not a good time to arrive at a marina.  All the good help is gone since they worked all weekend.  The only person on duty was of little help in finding our slip.  When we did find it, it was too short in length and height.  We finally found a slip that we fit into but there was no help from the marina as there was only one person working.

In the shelter waiting it out - Keith, Elvie, and Jim.  If a funnel actually touches down, there is a room with no windows you have to go into.

Dark sky; tried to get the lightning strikes but with the time delay on my phone I kept missing them.  Too bad because there were some really good ones!
