Saturday, February 26, 2011; Visited Edison and Ford Museum

We walked to Edison and Fords winter homes and museum this afternoon.  About half way there I realized I did not have my camera; it was too hot to turn back so I decided to try using my telephone for pictures.  The pictures turned out OK but I had one heck of time figuring out how to transfer them to my PC but with the help of Verizon Tech Support, I now know how to do it.

The Edison and Ford Winter Estates contain a historical museum and 17 acre botanical garden on the adjacent sites of the winter homes of Thomas Alva Edison and Henry Ford beside the Caloosahatchee River  in Fort Myers.

Quote from Edison:  "The world owes nothing to any man, but every man owes something to the world".

Quote from Ford:  "Education is not something to prepare you for life; it is a continuous part of life".

This evening we took the dinghy out to "Miss Ruby" for drinks.  They were on a mooring ball just outside of the marina.  It was a beautiful night.

Banyan Tree-origin from India

Beautiful flowers

There is a home behind all those trees

Time for ice cream; very hot day

  1. Too hot would be good for us in MN - tired of snow, wind, and cold. More snow coming on Tnursday - do you have room on your boat for 2 more?

  2. Soak up the heat for us, wind chill, snow blowing and more snow coming on Thursday - Steve asks "why do we live here?" Came home crabby from a fire - tired of cold gear, ice and just plain winter. Sue
